Polokwane – Rina Langenhoven, who was murdered on Sunday at Silver Mist Farm near Haenertsburg in Limpopo, will be remembered as a kind and dear person by her friends and neighbours.
According to Tinka de Lange, Langenhoven’s neighbour, she was a quiet person, but always friendly.”We never had any issues,” De Lange told News24.
“She was a quiet person that mostly kept to herself, but she was wonderful to be around.”Another neighbour and friend, Corinne Sandenbergh, said she was very close to Langenhoven.
“She was the kindest and most loving person I knew. She loved animals and we walked a close road together with the church group.”Three people were arrested on Monday evening in connection with the murder of Langenhoven, 67.
Her body was found under a mattress at the farm by a domestic worker when she reported for duty on Monday morning.According to Colonel Ronel Otto, the three men are aged 32, 35 and 45. One is believed to be a former employee.
“They were arrested in Mshongoville village on Tuesday night,” said Otto. On Monday, Otto said Langenhoven, who was believed to be a widow, was attacked while watching TV.
She was found with her hands tied behind her back and her mouth gagged, both with packaging tape.Among the items found in possession of the men were cellphones, a laptop, a radio and a television set.
They were expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on charges of murder and house robbery.Langehoven’s funeral will be held on December 11 at the Haenertsburg Christian Church.
