A thirty year-old man was injured on Henrietta Szold street in Kiryat Shmona Tuesday, after a car bomb detonated in his vehicle.

Magen David Adom (MDA) medics and helicopter crews called to the scene treated the wounded driver, who suffered injuries to his legs, and transported him to Ziv Hospital in Tzfat in critical condition. The driver was apparently already known to police.

Kiryat Shmona police have launched an investigation into the incident, with the preliminary prediction that this was a crime and not a terror attack.

Bombing incidents have become common in organized crime hits, with multiple incidents in Petah Tikva, Tel Aviv, and Eilat recorded over the past year.

Police Commissioner Yohanan Danino stated in November that he would relate to all incidents with the same seriousness as terror attacks, and vowed to crack down on organized crime.
