New Chapter in the Evolution of the Interfaith Movement

CRATA facilitated the interaction of the NRLF, NILC, civil society organisations and government departments with a view to enhancing the development role or the religious institutions.

In August 2010 the National Heritage Council hosted a national conference on the values of a just and caring society which endorsed the developmental role of religious institutions and embraced our common humanity (ubuntu/botho) and the common good as the guiding principles.

This collaboration brought the National Religious Leaders Forum and National Interfaith Leaders Council closer together and led to unity talks which were facilitated by CRATA-(Commission for Religious and Traditional Affairs). These talks led to the formation of NICSA.
